Hi Everyone!

First off, I just wanted to share how thankful and happy I am towards Linds for creating this site for all of us to share.  It's so hard for me to keep up with my schedule these days and yet she still manages to keep this site up-to-date!  That way you can all know what's going on in my life on the road.  Thanks so  babe, you're amazing and I love you*

So, I'm sitting in my hotel room in a town called Spokane, WA on a day off with 3 days and 2 shows remaining on the "I Will Go" fall tour with Starfield.  To say the least, we are all super excited to get home to our families and loved ones just as soon as we can! We have had a blast and God couldn't have put together a better group of 8 guys to live together for 6 weeks.  We all get along so well and we have gained friendships that I'm sure will last forever.  Most of all,  we've grown so much in God together as we provided spiritual influence for each other through lifestyle and devotionals.  I've learned so much and will always remember the uncountable laughs we've shared.  With all that said, I'm DYING to come home and see you all!! haha...No matter how much fun I could ever have away from home, nothing could be as fun as being able to see Lindsey at any time and to wake up in my house  being around my awesome family.  I'm SO excited to meet Josiah, the newest addition to our family, and by the pictures I've seen on Facebook, a very cute addition:)

So, I've decided to continue with Starfield and sign a re-newing contract for the new year.  This means I will be getting the opportunity to go play in some very cool new places including a trip overseas! I'll keep you posted as I learn more about where I'll be playing.  We will be playing in Toronto at the Westin Hotel for the Youth Specialties conference as the worship team on Dec. 5-6.  The guys are all looking forward to meeting my family so you best mark it off on your calenders! It's a great event, about 3-5 thousand people come out and there's a ton of entertainment from concerts to comedians and world-renown speakers all weekend!  Can't wait to play at home:)

Anyways, that's enough from me.  I just wanted to say that I miss you all very much and can't wait to hug you all, and a kiss for others;)

I love you all so much*
Bye for now:)

These are 4 parts to a video a couple girls made while backstage and during the concert in New Jersey. I am happy to say you can actually see Dave playing and hear the band, it seemed like a great concert, though smaller then their normal ones. You can also see Dave signing an autograph for them during set-up (part 1). So cute! Enjoy =)

The Midwest

A note from John:

As we drive on the Pennsylvania Turnpike on our way to New Jersey, Fall has set in, and the trees are as colorful and vibrant as I’ve ever seen them…This part of North America is so beautiful in the fall, and for some reason always evokes feelings of comfort, warmth, and peace in my soul. I’m thankful for the changing seasons, and how they bring about expectation and tradition in us…I think the physical world and it’s seasons force us as human beings to change and to move forward. But they also force us to take a step back and be still as the world moves on so quickly…I find myself looking back more and finding reasons to be thankful as I remember years past when the leaves fell in Autumn…Remembering what’s important and what’s of value. I think with changing seasons comes expectation and excitement, and a reminder of the promise that God has a plan for me, a hope and a future, and even as life moves forward, and the years go by, I am still his child who he dearly loves, and cares deeply for.

In this time of reflection and thanksgiving, take a step back, and remember how God has led and guided you. Be thankful for times of blessing and the times of trial and how God has used those times to refine and strengthen you…And most of all, find a new trust in him. His ways are higher than ours, and we can’t begin to understand the complexity of his role in our lives, but we CAN receive his love and trust that he is in control every day. - Jon.

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28

NYW Conference - Sacramento

Here's a clip from the Youth Specialties National Youth Workers Conference in Sacramento, California:

A message from Jon:

Here’s an excerpt from a message we receive on our myspace page shortly after the YS conference in Sacramento that we led worship at this last weekend. It was an inspiring/moving time of worship. Anyways, here’s one person’s comments on the weekend, and more specifically the evening session on Sunday night.

“About three thousand youth workers gathered together for worship during a “general session” in the main hall… we just heard an incredible word from the oldest and most passionate youth worker at this convention. His name is Tony Campolo, and he is in his 70’s. I cant even begin to describe the impact his words carried into the silence of our hearts… into my heart… into my silence. After Tony, a group named Starfield came out onto the stage… they began to lead this massive audience of youth workers into worship… to worship the VERY REASON, the same DIVINE ENTITY who has called us to serve the youth of our generation. When WE began to worship, I’m sure Daddy was smiling… I’m sure He was especially fond of this moment. WE were all so very different… from the color of our skin, culture, geographical location – to the version of Christianity we stuck to… we were all so different it was almost funny…almost sad… almost tragic that until this moment we weren’t able to worship Him in harmony – like ONE body… like ONE bride. This time God didn’t need a welcoming or a special invitation… He was already there… and we knew it… we already desired Him, we already belonged to Him… and He knew it. I stood shoulder-to-should with young men and women I have never met before, and what was most fascinating is that we didn’t need to know each other… there existed an evident unity… it was as though we were all of ONE Spirit. “

The tour continues on, and we are humbled and thankful that God is moving and breathing through what we do. It is humbling and exciting. Please continue to uphold the tour, and the unity of those involved, in prayer. - Jon.

Bakersfield, Phoenix, Colorado Springs, and Denver!

So, I have a hard time writing everything that is going on in Starfields tour, so pretty much I'll be pasting what the band is writing on their sites blog.....it pretty much covers 100% more then I can, considering I am not on the road or anything. I can say Dave has never been happier =)
You can check out the bands blog site at starfieldonline.com or their myspace page.

Note from Jon:
Hello all - Monday greetings to you. What an amazing weekend in Corvallis, a surprise appearance in Portland, and then two great days with youth leaders and pastors in Sacramento.

We got up early this morning and made a bit of an appearance on Air1's morning show, and then visited the folks at the FISH radio station in Sacramento. Now comes a little time to rest before the concerts pick back up later this week.
And here's the lowdown on the week that is to come.....
Thursday night - Bakersfield, CA - we guarantee you can afford this ticket. Through a special arrangement with Valley Bible Fellowship, all the tickets for this show are free. Come one, come all.
Friday night - Westminster, CA - last we heard there were only 50 or so tickets left on this show. If you're wanting to go, you should probably call, like, right now.

Saturday night - Chandler, AZ - tickets are available for this show. We're really hoping a lot of Dare2Share friends from the past come out to this show - call and get your tickets today!

Looking ahead to next week, Colorado Springs and Denver are both shaping up nicely - we're so excited so many of you have already picked up tickets. And so continues our trek across the US. Hard to believe that over the next 3 weeks we'll be traveling all the way to East to New Jersey. So exciting.

California

Hey!!

Nothing special here, but it's all I got (I'm such a guy.) I just took more random pics from the van and some spots we played at.

The lake shown is Lake Tahoe, it was gorgeous and I wanted to swim in it! There were tons of beaches along the shoreline and there were all sorts of little towns we drove through that had a bunch of cottages and shopping villages along the way. Also, apparently somewhere along the beaches is a place called Emerald Bay which is supposedly one of the top local tourist attractions.

The puppy in the pic is "Audrey", a mix puppy which belonged to one of the bands we played with. I just played with her during the other bands whole set:)

The pic of the C.V.I.C building is the show we did in Modesto, Cali. It was in a building that was super old and one of the original downtown buildings. It was built for plays and broadway. It has be beautifully restored and although my picture of the inside is super blurry, you can tell it was nice. Any other pics were taken by me from the van as usual :p

Anyways, we are now in Las Vegas. We are staying at a very nice house but they have a Tarantula living in between their steps here and they call it their pet!!! I got to see it, it's huge! I'll try to get a pic for sure.

I will send all my pics I take in the next few days here so keep checking!

Denver / New Mexico

Here are some more pics from the past few days:

The first one is of Matt & Cass Davidson, the couple who took us in in Denver. They were so good to us! The second is a picture of their 15 year old black lab, Patterson, she was sooo sweet and never left my side the whole time! They also had another younger lab, and 5 cats! The other pics are just random. The one I thought was interesting was the last venue we played at, The New Mexico National Guard. They told me it used to be a place where they stored weapons for the armory! Craziness what must have went down in that place. We saw a spider that must have been the size of my hand dead on a sidewalk...yeah i definately squeeled like a lil girl and ran away!!
